The DWM250 2-1/2 gallon warm mist Duracraft humidifier can humidify a room up to 700 square feet.

It has a removable water tank that produces up to 2 1/2 gallons of warm vapor mist. This is equal to about 12 hours of use on the low setting.

2 ½ gallons of warm mist is different than 2 ½ gallons of water. The tank only holds about ½ gallon of water. But the water produces 2 ½ gallons of mist. Because the tank only holds ½ gallon of water, you might end up having to refill the water tank in the middle of the night. It all depends on the size of the room and the setting you have the humidifier on.

There are two setting, high and low. It’s a pretty quiet machine. The only noise you hear is the gurgling sound the water makes when the humidifier is turned on. As I said before, if you have the unit on the high setting, you might have to refill the water tank in the middle of the night. If you’re humidifying a large room, you might not have any choice but to keep the unit at the high setting.

There is an automatic shut off when the tank is removed or empty. However, some people have complained that the automatic shut off doesn’t always work. To be on the safe side, make sure you turn the unit off before you remove the water tank or when it’s empty.

The base of the unit is easy to clean. It can be removed and washed by hand or in a dishwasher. As with any Duracraft humidifier, make sure you clean the unit on a regular basis, at least once every two weeks. There is a medicine cup included that can be used to disperse vapors (such as Vicks) if you have a cold or flu.

Regular cleaning will keep this unit functioning properly and will help prevent mold and bacteria from growing inside it. If you have hard water, it’s a good idea to clean it once a week. Hard water will cause quicker bacteria and mineral buildup in the unit. White vinegar and bleach will do the job in cleaning this unit.

This humidifier can be used year-round to help prevent dry air caused by heaters and air conditioners. The common symptoms of dry nose, dry throat and itchy skin will be eliminated when you use this unit.

This is a pretty cheap unit that costs less than $30 on Amazon.com. It’s very rare to find a decent humidifier that is so cheap.

This Duracraft humidifier is one of the better units you will find on the market. If you have a small to medium-sized room that needs humidifying, then this unit is a good buy for you.

If you need to humidify a large room, you might want to keep shopping around for a larger humidifier with a 2 gallon water tank. That way you won’t have to get up in the middle of the night to refill it.
