The Lasko Natural Cascade Humidifier Review

lasko natural cascade humidifier

The Lasko Natural Cascade Humidifier can humidify up to 1800 square feet. It comes with a 2 gallon water reservoir. The humidifier has an adjustable humidistat so you can control how much humidity is in your room.

This particular Lasko humidifier is a pretty good unit. The water in the reservoir continuously circulates and outputs 4 gallons of cool moisture into the air. The circulating water helps to prevent bacteria growth. It has a treated, self-cleaning filter that can last the entire season.

The humidifier is pretty quiet compared to other models. Some people complain about the waterfall sound that the unit makes because of the water circulating inside. But, the sound is not something that should be a problem. The waterfall sound can actually be kind of soothing.

With warm mist and some other type of humidifiers, there is always a problem with white dust showing up inside the unit and on your furniture. The Lasko Natural Cascade Humidifier does not have this white dust problem.

One of the main criticisms with this unit is that the water reservoir is too tall to fill it with water. You can’t use a kitchen sink to fill it up. You’ll have to use the bathtub faucet to fill up the reservoir.

Another main complaint is the cleaning involved. To be perfectly honest, there will always be complaints about cleaning any humidifier. No matter what type of unit you buy, regular cleaning will always be required. The unit will not work properly if you don’t clean it on a regular basis. This particular humidifier should be cleaned once a week.

The filter for this unit can be cleaned with vinegar and water. You then place it back into the unit. There will be some mineral deposits that will have to be cleaned off from inside the unit. The manual that comes with the humidifier will explain exactly how to clean everything.

Some people complain about water dripping when you have to fill the reservoir. This is common with many humidifiers. You have to hold the reservoir upside down when carrying it to the kitchen or bathroom to fill it up. Some water is bound to drip out but it’s not going to ruin your floors or carpet.

The complaints mentioned above are pretty minor compared to other humidifiers. If you don’t have a problem using the bathtub or shower faucet to fill the reservoir, cleaning it once a week and the soothing waterfall sound, then you should be very satisfied with this unit.
