Vicks Humidifier - Vicks Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifier Review

vicks ultrasonic cool mist humidifier

The Ultrasonic Cool Mist Vicks Humidifier is a pretty good humidifier for a small to medium size room. Sound waves are used to convert the water into a mist.

Like with any other cool mist humidifier, this one is safe to use in a child’s room or nursery. There is no heated water to worry about.

This particular humidifier has a variable mist control. This control allows you to regulate the humidity level in your room. There is also a directional control where you can direct the plume mist to go in a certain location.

As with other Vicks units, you can add a Vicks Vapopad that will release a menthol scent. This will help people with colds, the flu and other respiratory problems. There is a Protec Demineralization cartridge included which removes minerals and other bacteria from the water.

The water tank is a pretty good size, so you should be able to operate the Vicks humidifier for up to 20 hours before refilling the tank. In order to make the filter last longer, it’s best to use distilled or filtered water in the tank. The water will not have as many minerals and bacteria in it as with regular tap water.

There is some noise when the humidifier is in operation. But it’s more like white noise that should not disturb you if you’re trying to sleep. If you are a light sleeper or just can’t stand any type of noise, then this unit might not be for you.

Of course cleaning a humidifier is the worst thing about owning one. But it’s a necessary evil. Without proper cleaning and regular maintenance, your humidifier will not work properly.

Just follow the directions so you know how often to clean the unit. If you use tap water to fill the tank, then you will need to clean it more often.
